Thank you for your interest in becoming a Climate Justice Action and Resilience Scholar!
The CJARS Program is housed within thte Social Sciences Divisio and cross-listed in the Urban Studies & Planning and Anthropology Departments at UC San Diego. It provides an interdisciplinary, multi-site learning experience for undergraduates who are concerned about the climate crisis and related issues of justice, equity, health, and wellbeing. This unique program combines place-based, experiential, and traditional classroom-based learning methods both on and off campus.
Selected students will enroll in ANTH/USP 128A and ANTH/USP 128B during the Winter and Spring quarters of 2025. Each course is worth 6 units and must be taken for a letter grade. The class is scheduled to meet from 9:00 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. on Fridays, with additional commitments on occasional weekends. The program is led by Dr. Leslie R. Lewis. Final deadline: December 15, 2024.
